Women Freemasons

Celebrating over 100 years of women Freemasons

The Order of Women Freemasons and HFAF – Freemasonry for Women are two female-only Grand Lodges within the United Kingdom, who have an excellent working relationship with The United Grand Lodge of England. The Ceremonies and their regalia are exactly the same as male Freemasons. They also actively work with community and charitable projects.

The Order of Women Freemasons

The Grand Lodge of the Honourable Order of Ancient Masonry was constituted in 1908 and originally included men and women until the early 1920’s. A decision was made to restrict admission to women only and by 1935 the organisation was exclusively female. In 1958 the title “ The Order of Women Freemasons” was adopted and is the oldest and largest masonic organisation for women in the country. The Grand master and her Secretariat voluntarily undertake their duties at the Order’s headquarters in Notting Hill Gate, London which has been their home since 1925.
