It has been a very busy masonic season so far this year with plenty of work to do. It's also been great to be meeting again and catching up with friends face to face.

In December 2021 we held our installation meeting in which the Worshipful Master and his officers from the previous two years were proclaimed to remain in office for the ensuing year. Our last three meetings have been initiations and we will be passing one of our new members to the degree of a Fellow Craft in September.

We have an exciting few years ahead of us at the Lodge of St Giles and St Luke with a healthy membership waiting to take office. Next year we celebrate our 75th anniversary and hope to celebrate the occasion with plans being put forward.

Welcome to our new members

Membership is key to any successful lodge and it’s down to the hard work of our members that we are growing. Since the resumption of Masonic meetings last year we have initiated three new members. Our first was introduced in March to the Lodge of St Giles and St Luke through the West Kent Membership Pathway, which is a new initiative from the Province to attract new members and match them to a lodge that suits their personal circumstances. Trevor Barclay and David Roberts who were introduced by Bro. John Howlett and seconded by W.Bro Ray Armstead were initiated in June and July respectively. We wish you all a warm welcome and look forward to your journey through freemasonry.

We continue to have in attendance to our meetings many guests and visitors and we would like to express our gratitude for your continued support. If you haven’t been to visit us for a while or you have never visited please get in touch as we would be more than willing to accommodate you.

Donations

We continue to support local charities such as the Greenwich and Bexley hospice with money raised from the raffle and small change collections at our festive board.

The way donations are collected is changing and as of 1st October 2022 the text donations service will stop. This is a good time to start using the Festival 2026 QR code. This is an easier way to make donations using a mobile phone before or during a meeting. From September, cards with the QR code will be available from the secretaries desk at every meeting.

The West Kent Festival team have been working hard organising successful events to raise money for the MCF. Many more events are planned for the future with the next one on 10th September 2022 at the Pier Hotel, Greenhithe, where the annual Raft Race takes place.

We at the Lodge of St Giles and St Luke would like to wish all our friends and visitors to our website a very happy new year and look forward to sharing with you our progress and memories this coming year. The last few months have been busy with an organised lunch, which managed to raise money to local charities, taking part in Remembrance Sunday and enjoying two regular lodge meetings which celebrated promotions for some of our members. We look forward to the year ahead in which we will be celebrating our 75th anniversary and organising more social events.

What a fabulous evening had by all. Congratulations to Stephan Jansen on becoming our Worshipful Master for the pursuing year and the installing Master Ray Armstead for such a wonderful Ritual. We look forward to the year ahead with all offices filled with light Blues. The meeting and festive board were both well attended. We would also like to thank our DPGM and his escorts and to Ian Gallehawk on his splendid photographs :)
